Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695) has enjoyed enduring fame whereas his brother Daniel (1660 - 1717) has been completely eclipsed over the course of the centuries. However, Daniel was also a successful composer in his day. Here Ensemble Mediolanum perform chamber works by Daniel and Henry Purcell, demonstrating the stylistic diversity of their music and the remarkable compositional abilities of both men. The result is an exciting, varied and wholly compelling programme.
