The current CD follows upon the tremendous critical success of violinist Friedemann Eichhorn's first disc of the music of Astor Piazolla, Le Grand Tango (hänssler CD 93.205). But whereas the previous disc featured arrangements of Piazzolla's masterworks for piano trio, here, Eichhorn performs in an even more intimate setting, accompanied only by a guitar.

While a thoroughly enjoyable CD in its own right, the premise behind the selections on the program were in fact to trace the curious migration of Latin music to Paris (in particular, to Nadia Boulanger's circle) where it blossomed, returning to its home and finally to the world.
